To carry a CZ P-01 in Condition 1 (Cocked & Locked), you must have the specific Omega version of the pistol. Because the standard P-01 is a decocker-only model, it is physically impossible to carry it "Cocked & Locked" without the Omega trigger system.
The CZ P-01 Omega is the only variant designed to support Cocked & Locked carry.
The Switch: It comes from the factory with the decocker installed, but includes a manual safety lever in the box.
Installation: You can swap the decocker for the safety lever without tools or advanced gunsmithing. Once the safety is installed, you can carry the hammer back with the safety engaged, exactly like a 1911 or a full-size CZ 75.
Identification: You can tell it's an Omega by the interlocking Greek $\Omega$ symbol on the slide and the straighter trigger blade (instead of the traditional recurve "hook" trigger).
If you have the standard P-01 (the one with the NATO Stock Number on the slide), it cannot be carried Cocked & Locked.
No Manual Safety: There is no lever to "lock" the action.
The Intent: This model is designed strictly for a Double-Action (DA) first shot. Pushing the lever safely drops the hammer to the half-cock notch. The long, heavy pull of the DA trigger acts as the primary safety against accidental discharge.
Carrying a standard P-01 with the hammer cocked and no safety is extremely dangerous and not recommended.
The trigger pull in Single-Action (SA) is very light (usually around 4–5 lbs). Without a manual safety to block the sear or trigger, a snag on a holster or a piece of clothing could easily discharge the firearm.
There is a very rare, limited-run Steel-Frame P-01 (Model #91199). It looks like a P-01 (has the rail) but is made of heavy steel and features a manual safety. If you managed to find one of these "unicorns," it does allow for Cocked & Locked carry.
