CZ 75 COMPACT P-01

The CZ P-01 (often called the CZ 75 P-01) is the modern, tactical evolution of the CZ 75 Compact. While it shares the same general silhouette as the steel Compact, the P-01 was specifically engineered for law enforcement and military requirements. It is famous for being one of the few pistols in the world to hold a NATO Stock Number (NSN), signifying it has passed some of the most rigorous torture tests in small arms history.

Key Design Elements

• Aluminum Alloy Frame: To meet military requirements for a lightweight carry pistol, the P-01 uses a 7075-T6 forged aluminum alloy frame. This makes it significantly lighter than the all-steel CZ 75 Compact (approx. 28 oz vs. 33 oz).

• Accessory Rail: Unlike the standard Compact or the PCR, the P-01 features an integrated MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail on the dust cover, making it a premier choice for home defense where a weapon-mounted light is essential.

• The Decocker System: The standard P-01 comes with a decocking lever instead of a manual safety. This allows the user to safely drop the hammer to the half-cock notch for a Double-Action first pull, which is the preferred setup for many duty applications.

• NATO Certification (NSN 1005-16-000-8619): The P-01 underwent three years of testing by the Czech National Police. The requirements included:

  • Reliability: A "Mean Rounds Between Failure" (MRBF) of 2,142 rounds (far exceeding the US Army's 495-round requirement).

  • Durability: A service life of 30,000 rounds.

  • Torture: Functionality in temperatures from $-31^\circ\text{F}$ to $158^\circ\text{F}$, and after being submerged in mud and sand.

• Omega Variant (Convertible): The P-01 Omega model features a simplified trigger system that allows the user to swap between a decocker and a manual safety lever using included parts, providing the ultimate flexibility in manual of arms.
