The CZ 75 D PCR Compact is a specialized version of the CZ 75 designed for the Police of the Czech Republic. It is almost identical in dimensions to the standard CZ 75 Compact but is specifically optimized for concealed carry and plainclothes duty.
Aluminum Alloy Frame: The PCR's most significant departure from the standard "Steel" Compact is its forged aluminum alloy frame. This reduces the weight by approximately 4 ounces (a quarter pound), making it far more comfortable for all-day carry while remaining durable enough for duty use.
The "D" Designation (Decocker): Unlike the safety-equipped Compact, the PCR features a decocking lever. This allows the user to safely drop the hammer to a "half-cock" position, enabling a Double-Action (DA) first shot without having to manually lower the hammer with their thumb.
Snag-Free Sights: The PCR is equipped with low-profile, "snag-free" fixed sights. The rear sight is uniquely designed to slope forward toward the front of the slide, preventing it from catching on clothing during a draw. Note that the PCR uses a unique rear sight dovetail that is different from most other CZ 75 models.
Loaded Chamber Indicator (LCI): The PCR features a tactile and visual indicator on the top of the slide, a feature missing from the standard steel Compact and the P-01.
Ergonomics: It includes serrated front and back straps for a more secure grip, rubberized grip panels, and a slightly modified "trigger reach" designed to be more accessible for various hand sizes.
The PCR and the P-01 are very similar (both are alloy-framed decockers), but the PCR is often preferred by those who do not use weapon lights:
No Accessory Rail: By omitting the Picatinny rail found on the P-01, the PCR has a slimmer, more tapered "dust cover." This makes it slightly easier to holster and results in a more traditional, streamlined appearance.
Lighter Front End: Without the extra metal of the rail, the PCR is slightly more balanced toward the grip, which some shooters find makes it faster to transition between targets.
