Children International

Children International is a nonprofit humanitarian organization dedicated to bettering the lives of impoverished children, their families and communities.

They achieve their goals primarily through child sponsorship, which unites children in need with individual sponsors who wish to address the children's immediate and basic needs. Sponsorship gives poor children the tools and opportunities necessary for success by providing benefits and supporting programs for each child - primarily in the areas of education and health.

Being a nonprofit humanitarian organization, Children International focuses on easing the burdens placed on impoverished children. Their caring sponsors and donors give poor children from around the world an opportunity at a better life. Their sponsorship program is designed to impact every aspect of a child's life. Sponsored children receive life-changing assistance in areas such as:

• Health: access to a doctor, dentist, vaccines and medicine
• Education: uniforms and school supplies, tuition assistance, access to libraries and tutoring
• Nutrition: malnutrition screenings, feeding programs, supplements and educational programs
• Youth: peer education, leadership and vocational training, civic responsibility and scholarships

Smile Train

Smile Train is focused on solving a single problem: cleft lip and palate. Clefts are a major problem in developing countries where there are millions of children who are suffering with unrepaired clefts. Most cannot eat or speak properly, aren’t allowed to attend school or hold a job, and face very difficult lives filled with shame, isolation, pain and heartache. The good news is every single child with a cleft can be helped with surgery that costs as little as $250 and takes about 45 minutes.

Their mission is to provide free cleft surgery for millions of poor children in developing countries and provide free cleft-related training to doctors and medical professionals. They will continue their misson until there are no more children who need help and they have completely eradicated the problem of clefts.

Our Contribution

We've aided in providing more than 40 children with the life-changing care they need. This care includes providing medicine, education, food, clean water, and even surgery to repair cleft lips. We get a picture of each one of our kids and display them in our office as a reminder of them and of the potential to continue contributing.
