What are CPR manikins?
A CPR Manikin (otherwise known as a CPR dummy, CPR doll, or CPR mannequin) is a training tool used by CPR training instructors, health professionals, and the general public that assists in practicing proper CPR and AED use in order to be prepared for an emergency. CPR Savers & First Aid Supply carries a large selection of professional CPR manikins and accessories, including the revolutionary Prestan manikins with CPR feedback. CPR feedback is now required by the AHA for proper CPR training as of 2019. Please visit our AHA Manikin Guideline Page for more detailed information about these changes.
What CPR manikins are available?
Whether you want a specific brand, or want more economical options, we have the right CPR manikin for you. Our most popular sellers are Prestan manikins, CPR Prompt Manikins, Basic Buddy Manikins, and Laerdal Resusci Anne Manikins. If you would like something a little more advanced, check out our advanced Lifesaving manikins from CAE Medical, Nasco, Guamard, Simulaids and Vata.
How much does a CPR Manikin cost?
The price of a CPR Manikin can range from as low as $50 for inflatable cpr manikins, to as high as $10,000 for some of the more high-end ALS Manikins. However for very basic CPR manikin training purposes you can get away with spending less than $500. For less expensive, but still high-quality manikins, try CPR Prompt, Basic Buddy, or PRESTAN manikins, as they tend to run under $200 per manikin, while CPR Brayden and Laerdal (particularly CPR Anne) represent a higher end, but still affordable option.
Why should I buy a CPR Manikin?
When an emergency occurs, being calm and prepared when under pressure is an important asset to increase the quality of care. Being prepared for SCA (sudden cardiac arrest) will help speed up the process of care, and that extra time can mean the difference between life and death. Getting CPR and AED certified and continuing to practice CPR is an important step in preparing you for that emergency resulting in a higher quality of care to the SCA victim. CPR Savers & First Aid Supply offers the tools and knowledge in order to help instructors and students in their training needs, and the CPR manikin is among the most important tools for training. CPR manikins give you the ability to realistically train and practice CPR before needing to perform it on an actual person and provide feedback to help you correct common mistakes that occur while performing CPR.
How do I care for my CPR Manikin?
First off, make sure you store your CPR Manikin at room temperature in a dry place, as too much dampness will harm the manikin and shorten the manikin's electronic lifespan. Since multiple people will be using the CPR manikin, it is recommended to have each student use it with a new face shield or training mask (CPR Accessories) to help keep germs from spreading from student to student. Once done with training, be sure to clean and sanitize your CPR manikin by using an isopropyl alcohol wipe (Wipes and Towlettes) to keep it in good condition and extend it's lifespan. CPR Manikins have different builds and accessories, and as the manikin gets used parts may break. In that situation it may be more cost effective to purchase a replacement part by clicking on the specific category for your manikin than to purchase a completely new one.
Which CPR Manikin is Right for You?
CPR Manikins are built with a variety of different features, such as AHA compliant CPR feedback, features that makes the process of AED training easier, and features that make the CPR training process more realistic, a variety of different styles, such as adult, child, or infant manikins, torso, or full-body manikins, and ALS, QCPR, or BLS manikins, and sell for a variety of different prices depending on the level of realism and quality you need. Knowing the type of CPR manikin you need can not only make the purchase process easier, but will also save you money in the long run.
