The Columbia Dentoform 1KSURGIOAT Surgio is a lifelike dental surgical manikin designed for advanced implant, oral-surgery and restorative training. This model combines an edentulous upper arch with an atrophic lower mandible, creating a challenging clinical configuration for developing implant placement, flap-management and prosthetic-restoration skills.
Its simulated oral tissues provide realistic resistance and rebound during treatment. The gingiva is attached to a simulated periosteum, can be incised and is designed to retain sutures. The cheeks and tongue reproduce common access and visibility challenges encountered when working within a patient’s oral cavity.
The manikin incorporates region-specific simulated bone densities, including D1 bone around the symphysis, D2 in the posterior mandible, D3 in the anterior maxilla and D4 in the posterior maxilla. The atrophic mandibular anatomy makes this version especially appropriate for advanced implant-placement and full-arch treatment exercises.
Surgio may be X-rayed or CT scanned for use with implant-planning and guided-surgery software. A simulated maxillary sinus and Schneiderian membrane support sinus-augmentation instruction, while the throat-area drain plug and tube permit water use and simplify cleanup after drilling.
The system is compatible with major implant manufacturers and can support exercises involving:
-
Single-unit implant placement and restoration
-
Aesthetic anterior implant placement
-
Flap incision, reflection and suturing
-
Lateral-wall or crestal sinus-lift techniques
-
Implant-supported three-unit bridges
-
Two-implant removable overdenture training
-
Tilted four-implant full-arch protocols
-
Impression and prosthetic-restoration exercises
