Description

Blue Guns are inert training replicas only. They are not real firearms, are non-functioning, and are intended strictly for training and instructional purposes.

Blue Guns M18A1 Claymore Mine

The Blue Guns M18A1 is a highly durable, inert replica of the standard issue M18A1 Claymore anti-personnel mine. Manufactured by Ring's Manufacturing, this simulator is designed for safe training environments where soldiers and law enforcement officers need to practice the deployment, recognition, and handling of directional mines without the hazards associated with live explosives or sensitive fusing mechanisms.

Key Features

1:1 Scale Replica: Molded from an actual M18A1 mine to ensure exact external dimensions. This allows it to fit perfectly into standard M7 bandoleers and transport bags.

Solid Construction: Made from impact-resistant polyurethane with steel reinforcement. This prevents the training aid from bending, flexing, or crushing under the rigors of field training.

Inert Safety: Completely non-functional with no moving parts or explosive potential. The solid body design ensures there is no risk of accidental detonation, making it safe for classroom and force-on-force environments.

Visual Identification: Available in "Law Enforcement Blue" to immediately identify it as a training tool. (Note: Also frequently available in green or black for tactical simulation, but "Blue" is the standard safety color).

Molded Details: Features accurate external markings, including the iconic "FRONT TOWARD ENEMY" lettering and the "Back" instructions, aiding in proper orientation training.

Specifications

Manufacturer: Ring's Manufacturing

Model Number: FSM18A1

Platform: M18A1 Claymore Mine

Material: Steel-Reinforced Polyurethane

Dimensions: ~ 8.5" x 3.25" (Approximate standard Claymore dimensions)

Weight: Available in Weighted (matches the ~3.5 lbs of a live mine) or Unweighted (lighter for easier transport) versions.

Action: Inert / Static Prop (Legs are typically molded in the folded position or fixed; this is a solid unit).

Common Applications

Emplacement Drills: Teaching trainees the proper physical setup and aiming of the mine (using the peep sight mold).

Booby Trap Recognition: Used in courses to teach soldiers how to spot hidden mines in an environment.

Load Bearing Exercise: The weighted version is often used during rucks/marches to simulate the actual weight of carrying a full combat loadout including munitions.

Classroom Safety: Safe demonstration of the mine's parts and directional blast zones without bringing live ordnance into a lecture hall.

Important User Note: This is a static molded prop. The scissor legs usually do not unfold, and the fuse wells do not open. It is a solid block of polyurethane designed for rough handling and visual recognition, not for practicing the fine motor skills of screwing in fuses or adjusting the legs.
