Ruger LCP with Crimson Trace Laserguard

This configuration couples the ultra-compact Ruger LCP .380 ACP pistol with the Crimson Trace LG-431 Laserguard. This pairing addresses one of the primary challenges of micro-compact pocket pistols: aimed fire under stress. By integrating a laser sight directly onto the trigger guard, the setup maintains the pistol's deep concealment profile while significantly improving target acquisition speed and accuracy in low-light or dynamic situations.

Key Features

Instinctive Activation: The core feature of the Crimson Trace Laserguard system is the activation button located on the front strap of the grip. The laser turns on automatically when the shooter grips the firearm naturally to fire, eliminating the need to fumble for switches during a high-stress encounter.

Integrated Design: The LG-431 is molded specifically to fit the frame contours of the original Ruger LCP. It attaches securely around the trigger guard, minimizing snag points and adding negligible weight/bulk to the weapon.

Compensates for Small Sights: The standard LCP features very low-profile, integral sights that can be difficult to see in the dark. The laser projects a bright dot directly onto the threat, allowing the user to focus on the target rather than aligning iron sights.

Adjustable Zero: The laser diode is fully user-adjustable for both windage (horizontal) and elevation (vertical), ensuring the point of aim matches the point of impact for the user's chosen defensive ammunition.

Battery Life: Runs on a single 1/3N Lithium battery (or two 357 Silver Oxide batteries), typically providing over four hours of continuous runtime.

Specifications (Combined System)

Platform: Ruger LCP (Original/Gen 2)

Laser Model: Crimson Trace LG-431

Caliber: .380 Auto

Capacity: 6+1 Rounds

Combined Weight: Approximately 10.2 oz

Laser Output: 5mW Peak, 633nm, Class 3R Red Laser

Activation: Front-located pressure pad

Holster Compatibility: Requires holsters specifically molded for the "LCP with Laserguard" profile. Standard LCP holsters will not fit.

Common Applications

Pocket Carry: Despite the added laser, the footprint remains small enough for pocket carry (using a compatible pocket holster).

Low-Light Defense: Provides critical aiming capability in dimly lit parking lots, homes, or alleys where iron sights would be invisible.

Non-Standard Shooting: Enables accurate fire from retention positions (close to the body) or awkward angles where bringing the gun to eye level is not feasible.

Compatibility Note: This description applies to the original Ruger LCP. The newer Ruger LCP II has a different trigger guard geometry and requires a different laser model (LG-497).
