Description

Blue Guns are inert training replicas only. They are not real firearms, are non-functioning, and are intended strictly for training and instructional purposes.

The Ruger LCR 9mm is a variation of the popular Lightweight Compact Revolver platform, chambered in the widely available and affordable 9mm Luger cartridge. This model allows shooters to carry a revolver that shares ammunition compatibility with their semi-automatic duty or concealed carry pistols. Due to the higher pressures of the 9mm cartridge, this model features a more robust steel upper frame compared to the aluminum used in the standard .38 Special LCR, resulting in a slightly heavier but more durable firearm.

Key Features

Moon Clip System: Because 9mm Luger is a rimless cartridge designed for semi-automatics, the LCR 9mm utilizes moon clips (star-shaped steel holders) to hold the cartridges in place. These clips act as speed loaders, allowing for incredibly fast reloads and ensuring all spent casings eject simultaneously.

Stainless Steel Upper Frame: Unlike the .38 Special model which uses aluminum, the 9mm version utilizes a monolithic 400-series stainless steel cylinder frame. This added mass (bringing the weight to 17.2 oz) helps dampen the snappy recoil often associated with high-pressure 9mm rounds in small revolvers.

Friction-Reducing Cam: Features Ruger's patented friction-reducing cam fire control system. This results in a smooth, non-stacking double-action trigger pull that is widely considered one of the best factory DAO triggers on the market.

Polymer Fire Control Housing: The lower grip frame is made from glass-filled polymer, which significantly reduces overall weight and helps absorb recoil impact before it reaches the shooter's hand.

Hogue Tamer Monogrip: Comes standard with a soft rubber grip featuring a recoil cushion insert at the backstrap, essential for managing the impulse of 9mm defensive loads.

Common Applications

Unified Ammo Logistics: Ideal for users who already own 9mm pistols and want a revolver without stocking a new caliber like .38 Special.

Concealed Carry: The slight increase in weight over the .38 model aids in shootability while remaining compact enough for ankle or waistband carry.

Cost-Effective Training: 9mm ammunition is typically significantly cheaper than .38 Special, allowing for more frequent practice sessions.

Operational Note: While the revolver can fire 9mm cartridges without the moon clips (the cartridges will headspace on the case mouth), the ejector star will not be able to catch the rimless cases. This means you would have to manually poke the spent casings out with a rod or pen. For defensive use, moon clips are mandatory for reliable ejection.
