The Philips HeartStart OnSite AED is a portable, lightweight (just 3.3 pounds with electrode pad cartridge and battery pack) automated external defibrillator. Its voice prompt system even has "on-demand" CPR coaching to help you remember all of the steps during your resuscitation effort. Philips has long recognized the importance of delivering life-saving shocks to patients quickly and efficiently. That's why Philips Healthcare is proud of all of their HeartStart defibrillators' "Quick Shock" capability. It takes less than 10 seconds to deliver a shock after pausing CPR which means less wasted time during critical moments with Philips HeartStart AEDs.

The audible clear and natural voice instructions guide the user step by step and keeps pace with the actions being taken. The voice instructions are designed to be sufficiently detailed but not overly wordy to guide even the most novice user. The device is so intuitive that if a voice instruction is not performed, the HeartStart AED recognizes this and asks the user to again to perform the step in a re-worded way, assuming that the first instruction was not understood clearly.

In the chaos and crisis of responding to a person who has collapsed due to sudden cardiac arrest, the HeartStart OnSite also provides visual instructions for those users who work better in that mode. These graphic-based visual instructions are designed to communicate instantaneously with minimum reading and interpretation, yet not complete with the voice instructions. This AED delivers its maximum shock strength starting with the first shock.

• Quick Shock Feature Minimize chest compression interruptions CPR is even more vital to survival than previously realized. Rapidly delivering shock after chest compressions is critical. The HeartStart OnSites Quick Shock feature reduces the time between hands-off and shock delivery.

• Integrated SMART Pads Senses application to patient skin. The pads are "smart" because they can sense that they have been removed from the cartridge and applied to the patient. This helps the HeartStart OnSite know at what point the user is in the response process.
