Tactical Mechanical Tourniquet (TMT)

The Tactical Mechanical Tourniquet (TMT) is a CoTCCC-recommended hemorrhage control device specifically designed for the rapid control of massive, life-threatening extremity bleeding. Developed using lessons learned from battlefield medicine, the TMT is engineered for fast, intuitive application while providing reliable arterial occlusion and minimizing the potential for pressure loss or application failure.

Designed for both self-aid and buddy-aid, the TMT requires minimal training and can be rapidly deployed in emergency situations. Its wide 2-inch strap distributes pressure across a larger surface area, helping achieve effective occlusion at lower pressures while improving stability during use. Unlike designs that utilize an internal band, the TMT's simplified construction allows for easier removal and rapid resetting when needed.

Dual locking mechanisms help maintain consistent pressure after application. A double-routed speed buckle combined with hook-and-loop retention helps prevent slippage, while the enhanced torsion bar securing system provides an audible click to indicate that the bar has been securely locked into position.

The quick-disconnect buckle allows the tourniquet to be applied around trapped or inaccessible limbs without requiring the device to be slid over the extremity. Its design also helps prevent incorrect routing during application.

A UV-protective stabilizing additive increases durability during exposure to sunlight, allowing the TMT to be stored outside of its original packaging without compromising effectiveness. The tourniquet accommodates limb circumferences ranging from approximately 5.75" to 38" (14.6 to 96.5 cm).

The Tactical Mechanical Tourniquet is available in multiple configurations and is also offered in high-visibility orange for applications where rapid identification of medical equipment is important.
