Wearable Port Access Trainer

The Wearable Port Access Trainer provides a realistic, interactive platform for developing port-access skills while strengthening patient communication. Designed to be worn by a training partner or standardized patient—or secured to a manikin—the trainer allows learners to practice clinical procedures in a more engaging and lifelike setting.

Two interchangeable skin thicknesses and three port inserts create multiple access scenarios for repeated skills practice. The included inserts simulate flat, tipping, and wandering ports, helping learners improve port identification, stabilization, needle placement, and overall access proficiency.

Constructed with latex-free Dermalike™ material, the trainer delivers a realistic skin feel and supports simulated blood flashback. Learners can complete the full port-access process from the initial stick through flushing, making it suitable for nursing education, clinical skills laboratories, oncology training, infusion therapy instruction, and other healthcare simulation programs.

The durable skin flap is designed to withstand more than 1,800 accesses using a 20-gauge Huber needle. Replaceable skins, port inserts, straps, and other components help extend the trainer’s service life while reducing the cost of repeated classroom training.
