The Columbia Dentoform 1M1974RAD is an adult radio-opaque dental typodont designed for hands-on digital and traditional dental X-ray training. Its radio-opaque construction allows the teeth, roots and supporting structures to appear during radiographic imaging, giving students a reusable platform for practicing image acquisition without exposing a patient.
A simulated tongue is incorporated into the model to create more realistic intraoral conditions when placing sensors, film or positioning devices. The articulated upper and lower jaws can be positioned in open or closed configurations using the sliding clamp, supporting a variety of radiographic exercises and projection angles. Columbia offers replacement O-rings and a sliding clamp specifically for this adult X-ray typodont.
The model is mounted on Magnetic Quick Disconnect articulator trays, allowing it to be installed in or removed from a compatible Columbia Dentoform adult X-ray manikin efficiently. It is intended for use with the 1KM1974 Adult X-Ray Manikin, which adds the adult cranium, face mask and mounting system needed for a more complete patient-positioning simulation.
