For the general public, the CDC recommends wearing gloves when you are cleaning or caring for someone who is sick. While running errands, or while out in the general public, using gloves is not usually recommended. Social distancing and washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds (or using hand sanitizer for 20 seconds) are considered to be the preferred methods of keeping your hands clean from bacteria while out in public. However, in combination with hand-washing, social distancing, and when used in the correct circumstances, gloves can be a nice supplemental tool to keeping safe from germs.
We have a large selection of gloves available on our site all ready to ship and while most hospitals use latex, nitrile gloves are highly recommended and widely used in many different industries due to the fact that some people are allergic to latex.
When to Wear GlovesWhen are Gloves Not Necessary
Gloves aren’t usually recommended when you are outside in public. It is best to leave the gloves at home and wash your hands, or hand sanitizer when hand washing isn’t an option. Gloves are only a new surface to transfer germs when they are worn in public. They are meant to only be used once, worn for a single purpose, then discarded just like in the food worker industry.
Ways to Protect Yourself
Social distancing and washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (or using Hand Sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol) is key to protecting yourself from contracting the COVID-19 respiratory virus, or any other illness. Using the recommended techniques by healthcare professionals all over the world let's all do our part in making sure the population remains safe and healthy.
